Outline
Introduction
My reaction to this article is that of agreement. I think that group thinks serves to destroy
constructive dialogue which offers better alternatives (Houghton, 2015). In that case, it increases
the occurrence of error. As well, groupthink tends to blur the effectiveness of good leadership.
Notably, there are different types of groupthink that should be avoided. Firstly, it is suave
leadership. That is when the leader comes with ideas that are preconceived and whips the group
members to agree with him or her. In this case, only his or her opinion matters. Notably, for this
instance, it means that the opinion of the other members of the group does not matter. One leader
showed this characteristic was Margaret Thatcher.
