Nurse Practitioners (NP) help in administering care to patients in different ways within
the medical institutions. The provision of an excellent environment for the working of the NPs
promotes the development and definition of ways that influence the patient about the healthcare
institution. Nonetheless, Texas law provides different restrictions to the ability of the NPs to
work within the medical set up (Texas Board of Nursing, n.d.). Consequently, NPs are not
allowed to work independently without the supervision of a physician in Texas. The abilities of
the NPs to have independent care activities are therefore curtailed by the need to ensure the
