1.In 250 words, examine and compare the elements of picture books, traditional literature, and fantasy. Explain the criteria you would use to select quality literature for your classroom.
2.Select two themes (i.e., courage, friendship, love, grief) that would be appropriate to teach in the elementary grade level of your choice. Select one book from each of the following genres for each theme: picture books, traditional literature, and fantasy. Selected text must provide multiple representations of concepts and skills in the content area.
For each theme, list the following:
- Title and author of all three literature selections
- Brief summary of each selection (2-4 sentences)
- Engaging instructional activity using all three pieces of literature to integrate multiple representations of concepts and skills into content area instruction (100-150 words)

Firstly, it is the use of picture books. In this case, the picture books are very popular with
the children since they have numerous illustrations which engage the attention of children. For
the case of picture books, they have numerous themes which are popular with the kids. In this
case, such themes include hugs, bedtime singing, and rhyming. In that way, they are able to
engage the children.
As well, there is traditional literature. These are the books that have stories which have
been passed from one generation to another orally, for example, fables, myths, and fairy tales.
Most of the fairy tales will have typical elements such as, “once upon a time.” In this case, the
fairy tales will have themes of love, tragedy, hero, and adventure. They are meant to appeal to
the imagination of the children (Strouse, Nyhout, & Ganea, 2018).
Also, there is fantasy which appeals to the imaginations of the children who like
