a. The life cycle of an individual can be gravely affected by the consumption of alcohol. The
consumer may affect the user psychologically/ mentally, physically, or socially. Firstly,
alcohol may affect the physical body with long term, and short-term effects such as liver
damages, increased blood pressure, intestinal and stomach ulcers, cancers. This may also
affect fetal development if a mother is an alcohol user. Psychological effects are also
consequences of alcohol misuse in a user’s life cycle. Long term examples of such effects
may include the life of impaired cognitive development, interrupted learning and memory
capacities, tolerance development increased anxiety and depression. The social impact in
one’s life may be exhibited by joblessness, low work performance, loss of friends and
damage in relationships, Increased exposure to violence and child abuse, financial
difficulties, Poor parent-child bonding, etc.
