The major indicators of men’s health have been one of the aspects that have had
minimal focus on despite the major differences between the genders. In the United States, it
has been noted that men suffering from severe chronic conditions have a life expectancy that
is six years less than that of women. The determinants of health in men may be categorized
into health-related beliefs, behaviours of the men, physical distress, and emotional
expression. The underlying factors that influence the behaviours and beliefs may also be
considered to their healthcare (Madsen, 2015). Each of the broad indicators may be assessed
at individual levels to determine a specific underlying cause.
Physiological factors that affect men’s health include the perceived susceptibility to
risk by the men that result in the men not believing they may get sick. Other factors such as
the concept o being masculine negate the efforts as the stereotypic view of the male body is
