modern law. This particular body will focus on the provision of regulations which will
revolve around crimes, offenders, and the punishment given for the crime committed. This
particular essay will focus on how it evolved to what it is currently. Further information
provided will focus on the establishment of common law, which was established by the
Roman Empire and how common law was distinguished from civil law. Other aspects to be
