Directions:For this assignment, your group will investigate a question of recurring concern related to health and wellbeing using one of the approaches presented in Module 3 & Module 4.

  • Identify the selected topic/area of interest previously identified by the group, Development Disabilities.
  • Form the question of recurring concern:What should be done about __Development Dissabilities_____?
  • Research the recurring concern to order to further understand the nature or context of the recurring concern. For this assignment, each team member should find at least three professional resources of information that will help give insight into the problem.(This will not be a complete picture of the problem, but will give us snap-shot view.)
  • Organize the ideas you’ve discovered from the professional resources by using either a multiple perspectives approach OR the ecological systems model OR life course model. Select 3 items perspectives from the list below in your assignment: different perspectives or ecological systems or the life course model.
  • Write a 3-4 page paper which helps us to understand the problem. An example of this paper is also posted. The paper should include:

In some instances, you may want to further “narrow down” the area of interest. For example, instead of researching the broadest question “What should be done about poverty?” you may choose to narrow your focus. For example, a more focused recurring concern would be: “What should be done to meet the nutritional needs of children living in poverty?”

Resources used may include: professional journals/periodicals, internet resources, government organizations, etc.A selected list of internet resources that may be helpful are posted under “External Links” for this course.Note: Please remember that you may need to read more than three resources to find relevant and appropriate information.

Group definition of Health and Wellbeing
Health and wellbeing imply a complete state of both the physical, mental and social
wellness rather than the typical notion of an absence of infirmity and disease (Rintek Madsen,
2018). This concept is derived from the world health organization definition of Health and

individual upright state of mind. Having a stable state of mind is very crucial to attaining
individual wellness. On the majority of cases, health and wellbeing depend on an individual’s

wellbeing by either giving them good health or poor health. The environment in which an
individual resides in might also significantly affect individual health. Living in a non-conducive
environment can lead to poor overall health of an individual.
