Introduction
The approach of leadership development draws in the improvement of knowledge, skills,
and capabilities of the leading individuals. By Caulfield (2013), the achievement of a business or
organization is enhanced by good management. As such, skills and capacity growth of the senior
managers in business are fundamental for boosting organizational progress. Organizations are apt
to take up leadership development programs whose success is reliant on the support from
stakeholders as well as their quality. Leadership is persuaded by religious perspectives, for
instance, among the Christians, it is an important practice that includes the capability of the
people to guide their followers, either in a team or the whole organization towards realizing their
targeted goals. It boosts the capacity of the workers to perform efficiently and take up separate
roles aimed at achieving organizational goals. Christians bolster leadership that is established on
practice and speaking or communicating with followers about the aimed goals. This kind of
leadership draws in guiding people towards honoring God’s Commandments, living a righteous
life, and following the teaching of Jesus.
Communication in Leadership
Communication is an important ingredient of leadership in any leader-follower/ supporter
set. Efficient leadership is significantly advanced with exemplary communication skills. From
the Christian point of view, one cannot be an efficient leader if the person lacks effective
communication capacities. Able leaders are recognized for the capability to impart a message to
their followers with proper channels, which are characterized by listening skills and capacity to
engage others. Studies show that in organizations efficient communication channels assure a
smooth flow of information from the senior management to the subordinates to facilitate
productivity. Therefore, top managers have the responsibility of taking up the most effective
communication channels to allow fast and precise passing of information, which will build up a
performance among the employees. For example, good verbal communication skills and efficient
body language demonstrates some of the most meaningful characteristics that leaders should
obtain.
Leadership is, for the most part, focused on leading others with the ambition of realizing
their full potential. Christian leadership is all about how individuals with weighty influence
communicate when giving directions to their followers and stakeholders towards shared goals
(Neumann, 2018). Therefore, there is a necessity to take up an efficient communication
approach, which should be established in the interests of all the parties involved. In such cases, it
will comprise more than just a leader passing the message, but also listen and be conversing with
the followers. Leaders are expected to listen to and understand their followers and make sure
their message is understood to assure the success of the communication process.
On top of passing a message, leaders should use communication to instigate and
embolden their followers. Based on the Christian’s perspective, Jesus motivates his followers in
his teachings, which means leaders also have the responsibility of motivating their supporters.
The Bible also illustrates the motivational aspects of God, which are primarily based on love
when He healed the sick (Mark 7:31, The New King James Version). It can be argued that
