The use of e-mail is one of the emergent communication developments in the health care
sector. Despite the growing number of internet users and the spread of e-mail communication in
healthcare, physician and patient communication has not yet reached the anticipated levels of
that technology in communication. Reasons as to why this so remains unclear fir very little
