I have also attached a support form on how they grade us on the research paper. the last attachment is of operation anaconda. you must incorperate the attached reference as one of 4 references the other 3 you will provide.

Analyze the major points of your base article for research. Use your time to develop a deep understanding of your topic to fully explain your part of the themed outline and support the group effort. My part is to explain and support the Command Structure of the operation. You are required to give an in depth introduction of your topic which is an follow up from the transition of the paper prior. Then develop the body of the paper fully using not less than three full pages and no more than five pages. I have attached the document named the Operation Anaconda you must use as one reference. You must gather three additional references for the reference page. so a total of 4. Ensure you use Times New Roman 12 point font and APA 6 style.

Introduction

Every battle has its challenges. Operation Anaconda is one that experienced several
challenges. The United States launched Operation Anaconda as it sought to neutralize the
Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters in the Shahikot Valley. The operation required coordination
from various forces that contributed to the problems it encountered. When one looks at
Operation Anaconda, one realizes that there is a lack of clarity in the command structure.
Because of this, the intelligence for the planning portion was almost nonexistent for this
mission.

Command structure

In any battle, command structure forms the basis of the success of that particular
battle. The organization of the command structure provides the soldiers with an added
advantage because of the smooth transition in operations. During the initial phases of
Operation Anaconda, the unity of command had not been established because the presence of
the United States military in Afghanistan was yet to fully mature. It, therefore, meant that
operations took place without a joint commander and a command staff in Afghanistan. At the
time, CENTCOM, through the leadership of General Franks, directed the combat forces. The
subordinating commands were the Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CFLCC)
and Coalition Forces Air Component Command (CFACC) (Kugler , 2007). With a growing
interest to assault the Shahikot Valley and the need to employ sizable ground combat forces,
restructuring the command structure was inevitable. It resulted in the combination of forces
that meant multi-heading the command structure. The multi-headed structure worked
successfully at first but would later experience problems upon the failure of the original plans
