Description

1. Find 2 articles about belief in conspiracy theories on PsychInfo. Read article.

2. Find ‘the next step’. Sometimes, in the discussion, articles will suggest something that would improve on that study or add a new variable to study. You are looking for a new variable to study to combine with the previous research to progress the research one more tiny step. I have looked at the Cross-race eyewitness deficit and the ‘fast decisions vs untimed decisions’ and I’m thinking of doing a study where people see Same vs Different faces to basically replicate the cross-race results, then half of the participants will get unlimited time and half will get 3 seconds per face. Having looked at the previous studies, I think that it might help to understand why the cross-race deficit occurs. It is one thing to know it happens, it is another to know why. If you know why you are more likely to be able to combat it in real applications. I posted an article about distraction. If the eye vs ear distractions affected same-race differently than different-race, that might also shine a light on what causes the effect. You are welcome to use these ideas. You will have to develop them a lot farther. But, I was mainly using them as an example of how you might find something related to your topic and make a small tweak to the original method. Part of the next part will be what method you would use and you should use as much of a previous study as you can.

3. I want you to have two things. 1. list the topic article (conspiracy) that you will use to start the topic and 2. an idea for the 'other thing to combine' with the topic (at least one more article that talks about the thing you want to combine, provide the reference). The second part of your post should have a paragraph or two explaining just what your main topic article says and a paragraph or two explaining what you might want to do.

4. PLEASE ADD REFERENCES!!!
