Long-term care involves a variety of medicinal and care services given over a lengthy
period. Although this service is not limited to the elderly; 43% percent of people in need of longterm upkeep are younger than the age of 65. Long-term care may be temporary or permanent.
There are different long-term care options one can take, and they include in-home care, assisted
living, and nursing homes. In-home care is whereby the household members look after the elderly.
The elderly have their rehabilitative services done in their house. Assisted living provides longterm care by helping the elderly with ADLs, primary healthcare, and meals, while nursing homes
