This character has just read Hesiod's Theogony and has publicly commented on that poem. In the eyes of your character, does the poem provide a fair depiction of Zeus? This assignment will require you to read both the Theogony and Prometheus Bound. All that you do should be grounded in the ancient sources. In other words, in composing your interview, you need to fully grasp your chosen character. You should also consult www.theoi.com. For any additional information, besides what you find in the Theogony, Prometheus Bound and on theoi.com, the library should be your PRIMARY port of call. You can look for an article or two on Hesiod there. The paper should be coherent and sufficiently organized, though bear in mind that it is not an argumentative essay, and so it need not have all the features that you would expect in an essay. Nevertheless, it is not simply an exercise in creative writing, and you will have to do some research to put the interview together, and at the end you should cite any of the sources that you have used. NOTE that I am only vaguely interested in your handling of secondary materials (books, articles, etc.); they are to be used to help you fully develop your chosen character. The interview should be 3-4 pages in length (not including title page or bibliography), double-spaced, and ideally on two-sided paper.

Script of the Interview with Prometheus
In the Theogony, Prometheus is depicted as a trickster. He tricked Zeus into picking
bones for his sacrifices. “Prometheus covered flesh and innards rich in fat with the ox's stomach
and set them down wrapped in the hide. For them, he covered the ox's white bones with shining
fat and, well arranging them for his cunning trick, set them down” (Hesiod, Theogony 540).
Prometheus has the gift of foresight. It is possible he already knew what Zeus would pick. “With
both hands, he took the white fat, and grew angry around his breast, and bitter bile entered his
mind when he saw the ox's white bones in a cunning trick” (Hesiod, Theogony 555). This
document contains a script of an interview with Prometheus.
What crime did you commit to deserve such a horrible punishment?
It all began with the war between the Titans and Zeus. I was born a Titan, but when I
tried to help them, they refused my guile and decided to employ force instead. Then, I offered
my guile to the Olympian god, Zeus. I practically won him the war, enabling him to imprison the
titan gods in the Tartarus. Zeus, punished me because like every tyrant, he must distrust his
friends. His plan was to destroy all humanity, but I stood on humanity's side. I gave humanity
hope and fire. I do not con...
