Introduction
Second-wave feminism is the period in the 1960s whereby women in the United States
and around the world fought for more rights and equality. Issues in the second wave included
family, sexuality, de facto inequalities, reproductive rights, and the workplace which were not
addressed in the first wave. The first wave dealt with issues like suffrage and the existing barriers
to property rights and voting rights. During this period, a lot of gains were made, and progress
