Since the 1960s Americans have shown great concern for several issues affecting their
lives. The period was marked with significant highs and lows for the American citizens. The
country experienced great wins and also suffered many losses. American, however, remained
steadfast in advocating for what they believed was right. The highlighted issues affected different
parts of their lives, such as the economic, social, and political aspects. Studies on the concerns of
Americans since the 19g0s give an understanding of the country we live in today.
The 1960s
During this period, Americans showed concern for equality and liberty in society. Liberal
Americans desired to see a country that undivided against racial and ethnic lines. President
Lyndon supported the achievement of voting rights for all and incorporated the language of the
