The water crisis in India began in 1999 roughly when coca –cola established their factories in
India and by 2006 the company was under full protest for the abuse of water and labor.


Why do you think this happened?

The entry of water crisis began after the establishment of coca –cola factories since the company
rely on water to feed its own plants. A lot of water was needed in production whereby three litres
of water was used to produce a litre of coca –cola and so without any water supply their business
will not be operational. This excessive use of water dehydrated the region leading to protest by
locals for abuse of water and moreover abuse of labor as the coca -cola intimidated and tortured
trade unionists and their families.


Who is to blame, India’s government, coca- cola, or someone else?

Both the India’s government and the coca- cola factory is to be blamed. The coca- cola factory
