In the book A doll's house, Nora abandons her family, and some of the readers view this
as prompted by selfish motivation. In my opinion, Nora did not have any selfish motives, and I
would like to defend her actions. In my opinion, A Doll's House is a controversial play. Nora
decides to dumps her kids, though, in her mind, she thinks that her kids need her more than she
needs her freedom. The book portrays women as inferior beings in the society which should not
be the case. All men and women are equal and should be treated in the same way in all
situations.
The author believes that women are meant to be mothers and wives, which, in my
opinion, is not the case. Other than being mothers and wives, women play other crucial roles in
society. Women can take up additional responsibilities taken up by men, such as working in
different industries to earn a living and improve their lives. With the right skills and knowledge,
women venture into the working sectors and become productive. We have women who are
managers, doctors, teacher, among other careers who contribute towards the growth of the
economy. Viewing a woman as only a wife and a mother is an outdated idea. Parental duties
should be meant for both the parents though women should play a more significant part
naturally.
Women should be given their freedom. They need to make their own decisions on
matters that affect their lives. Just like men, women have their rights as well as independence.
They have the freedom to choose what to do, when, and where as well as how to do it provided
their rights and freedoms do not harm other people. Women should be given the freedom to
