This is a picture of the second Ku Klux Klan of the 1920s. The white supremacist hate group had
existed in the 19th century, but the original Klan had been destroyed under-enforcement of the
Civil Rights Act of 1871 (Unit 7). The Klan was a result of the racial tension that existed
between whites and African Americans. In the 1920s, the group was reborn, and members of the
second KKK included women. It is estimated that by 1924, the group had a membership of 4.5
million. The new group practiced vigilante violence and tried to get into the mainstream of the
1920s society. The movement differed from the original KKK only because it widened its
operations, instead of violence against African Americans, they were also anti-Catholic, antiimmigration, and anti-Semitism. The members of the Klan in Alabama are known to have
released violence and terror targeting minority communities and to punish whites who went
against social norms. The image, therefore, represented violence for most Americans because the
Klan was associated with terrorism against minorities and those they considered their enemies or
enemies of the nation.

Considering the steps that the united states have made in terms of economic growth, the period
of the Great Depression must have been the worst time and the hardest challenge any
administration has had to struggle with. The great depression affected the lives of Americans,
first by causing widespread unemployment, hunger, and sending many into poverties. Families
were separated as people went to distant cities to find work. It is unimaginable that such a
