Assignment #5 – Develop a Change Management Strategy and Critical Path (35%) This assignment relates to the following Course Learning Requirements: CLR1 - List the key features of organizational behaviour CLR2 - Analyze the individual behaviours and processes as they apply to you in an organizational setting CLR3 - Develop team skills and processes CLR4 - Learn organizational processes Objective of this Assignment: Develop a change management strategy that applies the concepts and tools learned relating to organizational behaviour and engaging workplace teams. Establish a critical path for the change strategy, ensuring that outcomes can be achieved while maintaining team buy in. Step 1: For this assignment, read the following scenario: After working for your company, Gold-diggers Mining Corp. for nearly 5 years, you discover that your team is only interested in their own needs, desires and wants with little regard for the success of their peers, the values and culture of the company or the successful progression of the firm in support of sustainability. You approach the President of the company with your concerns and although he understands your perspectives, he is less than concerned because he is making lots of money. You leave his office frustrated because your personal values are not in-line with what seems to be a top-down problem. Nonetheless, you are not one to give up and begin to explore what can be done to turn things around. As the senior leader in charge of organizational development, behaviour and culture you embark on a planning process to change the attitudes, norms and organizational behaviour of the company from its current state to one that embodies a culture of productivity, safety, support for one another and personal growth. Your task is clear but is an uphill battle because the change will have to start with the President. Your plan must be succinct, well defined and actionable as well as timely, because you fear burn-out of the few positive people left in the organization including yourself. You will be presenting your plan to the President first, which carries some risks so you know that you have to develop something that builds buy-in from the start. Step 2: Your role is to design a start-to-finish change management strategy for the organization which should include key topics such as: how the plan will build and maintain organizational culture, how you will structure the plan and organization to achieve results, how the plan will motivate employees and measure success and how you will steward the plan as the senior staff member in charge of its design and implementation. Include a timeline with goals and outcomes for each stage of the plan. You must design the program from the scenario provided. If there is information that you require that is not noted in the scenario just make your own assumptions but ensure to note them in your assignment. Step 3: 1. The assignment details should be captured in no more than 1250 words (not including cover page and reference pages – see below). It will be marked based on the rubric below. 2. Your assignment is to be submitted in MS WORD format. It should be submitted with the following guidelines: • Include a cover page with the course code and course name, the assignment number, the title of your assignment, your student ID, your name, the instructor’s name, and the date the assignment is created. • Ensure the first page of your assignment has the title at the top of the page and the sections of your report have headings and subheadings to chunk your paper into sections for each of the topics you are writing about. • Font should be either Calibri or Arial, 11pt. Text must be double spaced but tables may be single spaced. • You must cite all your sources of information using APA formatting. • Create a separate reference page that lists all of your sources that you have cited in text. Sources include software used. Also, personal communications from a professional in the field count as a reference source. Change Management Strategy

Organizational culture determines how employees behave, the beliefs, assumptions, and
attitudes they hold towards the work and the organization in general. The management of
organizational culture is crucial in defining the workplace and determining achievement. The case study
of Gold-diggers Mining Corp shows a case of negative organizational culture which threatens the
sustainability and development of the organization. Primarily, the current culture is individualistic and
self-centered with no common goal or shared values. Therefore, the first step in enabling organizational
change is by listing the current problem which is the issue of a counterproductive and unsustainable
culture. After defining this problem, the change management strategy can be rolled out to ensure
change of organizational culture and increase the chances of success in the organization.
Change Management Strategy
The change management strategy outlined here involves the steps from the beginning to the
end with the target being the president as well as employees. The steps highlighted below are the
