My Opinion in the Case of Authors Guild Verses Google.
The core reason we have copyright laws is to protect the creators works as well as
providing them with a financial incentive to create more enriching and economical works that
can be consumed by their customers. The U.S Constitution is not blind to this notion. It gives
exclusive protection of creatives works and scientific innovations. The direct beneficiary of
copyright does not stop with the creators or innovators. Having the right to determine what a
user of your works can and cannot do with your work ensures an economic boom. In many
cases copyrights creates jobs for millions and millions of people. Platforms such as apple
music can only play copyright music. Customers pay to listen to great music on such
platforms and as such, the creators earn royalties.
