Radar development began in the 19th C with European countries being on the front
fore. This development had taken a decisive course by the start of WW II and was already put
in use by the military corps in various countries (Hartcup & Lovell, 2016). Radar technology
focuses on electromagnetism and detection of metallic objects using radio waves both in
short-range and long ranges. Development of radar systems was initiated independently by
eight different countries during this era of war. Regarding this, the article will unfold the
development of various radars from the World War II era to the present-day dwelling on the
military.

According to Watson (2009), radar development from the WWII era involved eight
countries which worked independently and in great secrecy. These countries included Japan,
USSR, USA, UK, France, Netherlands, Italy, and Germany. The name RADAR was
generated from the words Radio and Detection and Ranging and was highly influenced by the
USA Navy. In this period, radar development had sparkled up due to the world war and the
