"Africa, Voyage of Discovery: Different But Equal?" by Basil, Davidson is an eight-hour
documentary that was produced in 1984. The series features informative insights on the history
of Africa. Particularly the creator aimed at discrediting the mythological notions of the
stereotypes Africa that had been spread by Western explorers and philosophers. They had limited
knowledge about the continent, yet they made earnest declarations about Africa and its
inhabitants (Erickson, 2018).
