Introduction
Today, a sitting lifestyle is a major issue for public health. Sedentary behavior seems to
be gradually prevalent in various countries in spite of being connected to various chronic health
disorders. According to Harvey, Chastin, and Skelton (2015), most people who live a sitting
lifestyle have a low likelihood of realizing the state's physical activity plans. The American
administration's Physical Activity Guidelines of 2008 states that grownups should get at least
two and half hours of moderated amount of physical activity (PA) every week (Harvey, Chastin
& Skelton, 2015). According to a 2017 study by the Sedentary Behavior Research Network
(SBRN), sitting lifestyle is any activity that involves reclining, lying down or sitting that lead to
extremely reduced expenditure of energy (Tremblay et al., 2017). Also, the study suggested that
only 21% of grownups meet the PA rules, and less than 5% take half an hour of physical activity
in a day. It considers Metabolic Equivalents (METs) as the units for measuring energy
expenditure. The researchers considered actions that are less of energy or expend 1.5 METs to be
sedentary. This paper attempts to examine the effects of sedentary lifestyle on various systems
and processes in the body.
Dangers of a Sedentary Behavior

Rosenberg et al. (2015), lack of PA and sedentary lifestyle is associated with higher risk of
mental health illness. Moreover, obesity is connected with physical inactivity and sedentary
lifestyle. Being weighty is known to affect individuals. Lewis et al. (2017) revealed that a BMI

of more than 25 kg/m2 is related to infertility in both females and males. Being obese has been
linked with low quality of semen, mobility, sperm concentration, DNA damage, poor quality of
oocyte, as well as reduced ovulation and implantation. The estimation of obesity is based on the
values of BMI. Yet, extended times of inactivity can weaken the body's capacity to regulate
levels of blood sugar, blood pressure, reduce metabolism as well as break down of fat. Also,
sedentary behavior is connected with higher ...
