In clinical practice and psychology, the clinical significance is the measure of how large
the differences in intervention impacts are. In essence, it is the practical significance of a
treatment effect as to whether it has a noticeable, tangible, or real genuine impact on patients'
lives. On the other hand, statistical significance measures the probability that any visible
differences in outcomes between outcome and treatment are real but not as a result of chance or
luck. While both are important to research, there lies a significant difference between them. A
result's clinical significance relies on its effect on current practice-treatment effect size, which
makes up an important factor in establishing clinical decisions. On the other hand, statistical
significance heavily relies on the research's sample sizes (Ranganathan, Pramesh, & Buyse,
2015). While using large samples, small treatment effects may be treated as statistically
significant while they may be clinically inconsequential.
