These can be described as institutions that offer a short course to students after high school.
The classes usually go for two years at least. Community colleges may also have different branches
depending on their capability. Most of the technical courses are offered in these institutions. After
one finishes their courses at community college, they acquire individual credits and can easily
access degree courses they choose.
Role, scope and functional mission of community colleges
The primary responsibility of community college is to ensure all students can get a course
of their choice. They do so by providing different classes at their institution to ensure all students
are catered for in terms of education. They generate equity in society by ensuring any student can
access them without any discrimination. They can offer most of the courses that are learned for a
short period of two years. The reduction in the period of learning gives the students early exposure
