Question description

The thesis must be at the beginning, and at the end of the paper.

Choose a concept that interests you enough to study further. Write an essay explaining the concept and using information from outside sources (credible journals, books, websites, etc.) to support your explanation. Consider carefully what your readers already know about the concept and how your essay can add to their knowledge.

The paper must be two to three pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style. Cite your resources in text and on the reference page  I will post the rubric which we have to follow thanks

Basic - Some components of the concept are explained, but the explanation lacks sufficient development. Consideration of the reader’s prior knowledge is somewhat taken into account.

Below Expectations - Concept is minimally explained. The explanation fails to convey major components of the concept. Consideration of the reader’s prior knowledge is not taken into account.

Non-Performance - The explanation of concept is either nonexistent or lacks the components described in the assignment instructions.


Integration of Outside Sources to Support Explanation of Concept

Distinguished - Credible outside sources are smoothly integrated into the writing and effectively support explanation of concept. Evidence is comprehensive.

Proficient - Credible outside sources are integrated into the writing and proficiently support explanation of concept. Evidence is sufficient.

Basic - Outside sources are integrated into the writing and basically support explanation of concept. Somewhat detailed evidence is provided.

Below Expectations - Outside sources may not be credible, are not smoothly integrated into the writing, or provide minimal support of explanation of concept. Evidence lacks detail.

Non-Performance - The integration of outside sources is either nonexistent or lacks the components described in the assignment instructions.

Proficient - Determines own and others' assumptions and clearly identifies the relevance of contexts when presenting a position.

Basic - Determines some assumptions and identifies on a basic level the importance of contexts when presenting a position.

Below Expectations - Recognizes some assumptions, although such recognition may be incomplete. May inadequately identify the importance of contexts when presenting a position.

Distinguished - The paper meets the specific page requirement stipulated in the assignment description.

Proficient - The paper closely meets the page requirement stipulated in the assignment description.

Basic - The paper meets over half of the page requirement stipulated in the assignment description.
