Abstract
A research study on the challenges facing E-commerce companies and the solutions
implemented by the companies is to determine the challenges and measures to overcome
challenges. E-Commerce is drastically becoming a necessity as a mean of doing business. The
21st century is fast-paced in terms of technological advancement. As time progresses, more
customers are opting to buy products online. Companies are also enrolling in e-commerce as a
way to achieve competitive advantage. However, in e-commerce, many companies are making
consistent losses due to lack of a favorable environment for these companies. Some of the
challenges the companies are facing surrounds privacy, logistics, and internet connectivity. The
companies have strategized on ways to make the business environment more favorable.

The internet and globalization help to improve the benefits to individuals and organizations in
most developed countries. E-commerce and the internet are closely wrapped towards the
globalization of companies. Life for shoppers has become comfortable thanks to the internet and
technology. If applicable in an ideal business process e-commerce is a revolution in business
processes. Business sector dries the entire economic development in the world. Companies such
as Amazon is an example of global companies that have succeeded in e-commerce (Laudon &
Traver, 2019). The rapid transformation in communication technologies has changed the
shopping styles. With the improvement in the internet, online shopping has been popular among
users. Consumers can shop without physically moving to the shop. In the recent past, the internet
has provided a business platform that allows trade between organizations and consumers
themselves.
The United States has a high application of e-commerce in their business processes.
Every company in the United States is in haste to incorporate e-commerce in their systems as a
way to maximize customer satisfaction (Safa and Ismail, 2013). Most of the companies in the
United States are in a position to run a worldwide e-commerce site like Amazon, Walmart, ebay, and Sony, among other companies. The incorporation of e-commerce in the business
processes is paramount in promoting success in business. There are two main e-commerce
processes in business; business to customer (B2C) and Business to business (B2B). Business to
consumers involves business selling to the general public through the internet. Examples are
insurance companies and banking companies. Business to business involves trade between two

companies over the internet. Other categories include consumer to consumer, business to
government, and consumer to business. However, some challenges surround e-commerce
companies such as poor infrastructure, unclear tax structure, and poor internet access to a high
population, mistrust, and lack of awareness about the companies. The paper will address the
challenges surrounding e-commerce companies and the measures employed to overcome them.
Literature review
E-commerce is quickly becoming an acceptable means of doing business in the world.
Electronic Commerce (E-commerce) seems to be everywhere these days. It the contemporary
