I am always eager to learn new things, and I seized the opportunity that presented itself
during my residency weekend do just that. I was up early and was among the first people to
arrive at the premises. I wanted to find out some of the emerging threats in the field. I found that
the facility faced two major emerging threats, and even though they were trying to deal with the
issues, more must be bone to entirely prevent the threats.
Information security threat due to the outdated technology at the premises is the first
emerging threat. It is something that Mansfield-Devine in the book, Securing the internet of
things. Computer Fraud & Security, state that is a major emerging threat many firms are not
fully aware of and is expected to get worse with time (Mansfield-Devine, 2016). I noticed that
most of the machines and more specifically the computers in the various stations were outdated.
It not only slowed the operations but also put both the firms and its client information at risk.
With today’s technology, it is easy to hack and access information from the firm computers. The
chief technician of the firm acknowledged that there was a need to do something about the iss...
