Hacking as a key type of cyber threat on the nation’s pipeline is attributed to adverse
implications to the economy. Firstly, this kind of a cyber attack on the country’s pipeline can be
attributed to blackout to the major parts of the country that depend on natural gas as power
generation sources. According to Sobczak, Northey, and Behr (2017), cutting off a key gas
pipelines could lead to blackout states especially in areas which lack other sources of electricity.
