Job Description Summary
Tasked with translating and executing the owner’s concept of an ideal restaurant. Their
operations revolve around the front and not the back (kitchen) (Hill, 2010). They
oversee all activities taking place in the dining, promote teamwork and cooperation
among wait-staff, and ensure the dining runs efficiently (Dahmer & Kahl, 2008). The
dining manager reports to the owner of the restaurant.
Duties and Responsibilities during the Service
➢ Interpret and implement the shareholder’s goals and objectives
➢ Hire and train employees specifically food runners, servers, and bussers
➢ Supervises employees to ensure quality service delivery
➢ Directs and coordinates foodservice
➢ Handles budgets and payroll
