Plain view doctrine is a right conferred to police officers to seize objects which are
not necessarily highlighted in a search warrant but can be plainly observed during a search,
and the officers believe that these objects are connected to a criminal activity. This form of
evidence is discovered if one is searching under a warrant of a certain suspected criminal
activity, but in the process accidentally discovers a form of evidence which is an indication of
commission of another crime not covered by the current search warrant. The item should
however have an incriminating character which is identifiable by simply looking at it.
