Religion and Politics
Introduction

Religion and politics are based on the same values. Religion and politics are both
founded on moral values and principles that guide them. Such values include justice, obedience,
honesty, respect, integrity, loyalty, peace, unity, equality, freedom, diversity, volunteerism,
service, patience, responsibility forgiveness, co-operation, open and mindedness. To begin with,
both religion and politics are there to foster people, communities and families in terms of
promoting health living (Ross, 2019).
Justice, fairness and equity
Religion emphasizes that everyone should be treated with justice, fairness and equity.
Acts 10:34 says that God shows no partiality. Also the law states that it is everyone’s right to be
treated justly and fairly with equity. All people are equal and when wealth distribution, handling
of criminals, health provision, security, funding of education should be done fairly without

sin committed. Such punishments are not meant to harm but to correct the behaviors of followers
and on the side of the government, citizens. Therefore, people must adhere to rules/laws and
regulations to avoid problems and live in harmony.

Integrity can be broad and mean being whole in terms of respect, behavior, and honesty
and mindful. Loyalty is the state of allegiance (Wilson & Palgrave, 2018). In religion, followers
are thought to have integrity so that they can be good letters to the world. They need to live by
examples and be like mirrors to the world. They should show that they are God-fearing by
actions. Having integrity and being loyal to God means followers must serve one master, who is
God and not both God and Satan. Proverbs 11:3 states that “The integrity of the upright guides
them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” In politics, governments require that
citizens have integrity in public offices and workplaces (Ross, 2019). Governments also require
