  1. Suggest a plan to test your hypothesis (initial or revised). What data will you study? How and where will you gather it? What equipment or resources will be needed? How much time will be needed to gather the data? Are there any confounding issues that might affect/influence the quality of your data? If so, discuss how might you mitigate these unwanted effects/influences? Justify all of your statements.
  2. Provide a list of UMUC sources that could be used to review this issue. Include a citation of one article you read.
  3. Provide a list of web sources that could be used to review this issue. Discuss why these web sources would be trusted sources of information on the issue. Include a citation of one site you reviewed.
  4. Suggest how your data would be presented (chart, graph, or table).

What criteria have you used in the selection of review sources from the web? Think about articles that fit these criteria:

Accuracy: Can the factual information be verified by legitimate authority? Can one opinion be verified against another?

Authority: Is the authority in this material clear and legitimate? Is the writer qualified?

Coverage: Is the material complete, partial, or out of context? If the material is out of context, is there a path to find the source? If the material is out of copyright, has it been updated to make it more current?

Currency: Is the material updated frequently to ensure currency? Does the material reflect the most up-to-date research?

Objectivity: Is the material objective and free from advertising, bias, and hidden agendas? Is the language impartial? Is the statistical evidence credible?

You don't have to answer all these questions though. Choose a couple of them to answer to.

You may continue to phase 3. Remember to tighten a little bit all parts before submitting the final product.

Most people have always mixed together salt and sand. It is often fun to see how all these
tiny grains of sand and salt mix together. If there is a need to separate them, it poses nightmares
of small tweezers, magnifying glass, as well as hours spent to pick these grains apart. However,
this should not be a worry as there is another way of separating them (Chin & Brown, 2002). In
this chemistry science project, we will utilize the varying solubility between sand and salt to find
out the easiest "solution" to this challenge.
The objective of this project is to make a mixture of salt and sand and then utilize the
