Attenuation is a situation where signal transmits in a medium, energy of the signal being absorbed by medium and the signal strength should be weaker. It happens naturally and it can’t be eliminated. The light transmit in an optical fiber is a real world example. The light signal will continue to be weaker during transmission. The best way of avoid attenuation is using amplifier in the transmitting cables.

Thermal noise cause by the vibration of electron thermal in conductor. It exists in all device and transmitting mediums and only get effected by temperature. It is also can’t be eliminated. The medium with lower resistance can reduce thermal noise.
