White noise is due to thermal agitation of electrons thus is very hard to escape them cause they are somehow natural

The amount of noise depends with the temperature 

To avoid this the medium should be kept cool as much as possible

Attenuation-signal strength falls off with distance.Caused by  unguided media, attenuation is a more complex function of distance and the makeup of the atmosphere .

This problem is solved by use of repeaters   and amplifiears  so as to boost the transmission
