Introduction
It is normal for various organizations to collect the data of their customers and store them in their
database. These organizations have a responsibility to carefully protect the data at all the costs.
And even though they promise to protect the customers’ data, sometimes this fails to materialize
as they fail meet this promise.
Several organizations always meet difficulties for their failure to guard the information of the
customers. For example, in a scenario where the data is hacked by hackers, these affected
customers usually seek court intervention by demanding for compensation. Similarly, in other
cases, some firms are said to be misusing the personal information of their clients. (karot, Sunter,
and Wainer, 2013) This is actually done by selling to third parties’ the customer’s information
for marketing purposes. As a result they fail to adhere to the stated disclosure requirements.
Some firms also let unauthorized persons to access the data or oven accidently delete the data
accidently. This always ends in spending of millions of money by the organizations in trying to
retrieve the data lost. There is always bad reputation that arises from poor handling of their
clients’ data.
There is also a challenge of lacking knowledge of the origin of data. Some firms fail to
authenticate the origin of the customers’ and as a result they can’t easily act on them because
tracing the owner always leads to futility. There is also an issue to do with compliance because
there always an issue with the clients entrusting the personal information to a company which
they feel does not adhere with the data regulations.
Firms have a responsibility of passing necessary information to their clients that they monitor,
collect and monitor their personal information. This is usually made possible through the
