Mitosis is the process of one cell replicating and making 2 identical cells. In mitosis the cell replicates every single thing within the cell. After this replication, the cell splits into 2 identical cells. The physical process of the cell splitting is called cytokinesis. Therefore, mitosis could not occur without cytokinesis.
