Description
The latest technological advances in autonomous and automatic systems are truly amazing and come right out of science fiction novels from a few years ago. In this activity, you will conduct research on the latest advances (i.e. vehicle design and materials, battery capability, sensing and perception (LiDAR, radar, sonar, etc.) and networking (data links, frequencies, and communication) developed within the past five years in autonomous and automatic systems on land, sea, air, and space.
Select a minimum of two advancements in unmanned systems and provide a thorough analysis of the chosen unmanned systems, with a description of their relevance to the industry.

Outline Advances in Autonomous and Automatic Systems
I.
Introduction
✓ Automatic cars an open innovation by today’s standards, especially if they are electronic.
✓ Motivation behind them is in increasing the convenience associated with cars and motor
vehicle travel.
✓ The two most significant manifestations of advances in the autonomous and automatic
systems are mermaid robots and automatic loaders.
“OceanOne” Mermaid Robot
II.
✓ Developed at Stanford University in 2016 for the exploration of the sunken French
ship La Lune.
✓ A mermaid robot is an unmanned automated system that’s built to integrate the
operational characteristics of a submarine and those of a human diver.
✓ OceanOne is comprised of three significant optics, which are robotics, AI, and haptic
feedback systems.
III.
“Sandvik’s LH514” Automatic Loaders
✓ Automatic loaders are new contraptions that are inspired by the concept of automated
utility vehicles that are popular on land like cars.
✓ The loaders and trucks are infused with lasers, odometers, and gyroscopes as part of it...
