For 60 minutes, the children will participate in a number hunt in which I will hide
cuttings of numbers in different boxes within the classroom, provide them with sheets of
numbers 1 to 20 with spaces of missing numbers. Therefore, they will run towards the boxes
with different number cuttings and place them on the missing spaces in chronological order.
In this context, the learning objectives include helping the children develop early math skills
such as counting verbally, coordination, identify the chronology of numbers, and explore
their memory as they try to find the missing numbers (Peresta, 2019). The objectives for
students are to identify the missing numbers in their working sheets and run to the boxes to
find them. They are also supposed to stick the found figures on their worksheets in
chronological order and shout the numbers as they do so. The objectives of the teachers are to
ensure that children maintain their concentration on the work, learn how to re-energize them,
and ensure that their cognitive skills are well-sharpened.
Before they begin the number hunt, the teachers will guide them as they start with
stretching and 10 star jumps while counting 1 to 10 (Cheryl, 2019). Once they finish, the
teachers will explain to them what they need to do in the number hunt so that they can start.
The materials for this activity include three large boxes of sticky number cuttings placed in
different ends of the classroom, worksheets, and crayons. Firstly, each child will have a desk
to put the worksheet so that he or she can write his or her name on it using the crayons.
