Abstract
There are several leadership models, which are applied in many organizations. None of these
models applies to everyone and every situation. However, the most effective ones are authentic
and transformational models.Authentic model make leader lead with values, purpose, meaning,
and ability to overcome challenges. It is essential because there is a need for a leadership model
where leaders act morally, genuinely, and inspire others to follow suit. The transformational
leadership has four dimensions. These are inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation,
individualized consideration, and idealized influence. There is a strong relationship between
creativity and transformational leadership. The relationship is essential because creativity
enhances innovation. Innovation is achieved when the feelings of loyalty, trust, and respect are
attributed among the employees.There are specific situations where I found myself using
different leadership styles. In these scenarios I applied both authentic and transformational
leadership styles. I desire to become a transformational leader like Satya Nadella. Nadella is the
current chief executive officer (C.E.O.) of Microsoft. He is an example of a successful
transformational leader.

Several leadership models exist, including, holistic, servant, situational, authentic,
charismatic-transformational leadership, and others (Lapina, 2017). The most effective models
are authentic and transformational models. The proponents of the authentic leadership theory
argue that authenticity improves the efficiency of leaders (Muzafary, Chen, Wafayar, &
Wahdat, 2019). It makes them lead with values, purpose, meaning, and ability to overcome
challenges. In the authentic leadership model, the leader is aware and true to his/her values. A
sense of genuine behavior and authenticity is demonstrated by remaining true to one’s values.
The leader’s credibility is improved when this style is applied, which helps in earning the
followers’ trust. There are four constructs in this model that make it outstanding from all the
other leadership models (Lapina, 2017). These are internalized moral perspective, balanced
processing, relational transparency, and self-awareness.
Authentic leaders have high self-awareness. According to Lapina (2017), leaders using
this model understand their weaknesses and strengths as well as how their behavior affects other
people through interaction. Relational transparency implies that leaders are effective in
communication. The argument of Lapina (2017) is that the aspect of effective communication is
essential since it facilitates the achievement of organizational goals. In terms of balanced
processing, objective data is used in organizational decision-making. An internalized moral
behavior allows regulation of one’s behavior to avoid group and societal pressures.
Several factors explain why authentic leadership is effective in modern-day
organizations. Muzafary et al. (2019) argued that authentic leadership incorporates skills, styles,
behaviors, and traits that promote honest and ethical behavior. It is a type of leadership that

organizations, leaders and their followers achieve long-term outcomes. In the modern-day, most
organizations are characterized by corruption. Institutions vie for fame, enrollment, resources,
fake programming, and cheating. The scandals are common in many organizations across the
world. Muzafary et al. (2019) reported that these scandals have led to the need for ethical
