Description

Read a current (within one week of due date) affairs article dealing with some facet of international importance. The article may pertain travel and tourism or it may relate to some aspect of international affairs which would impact travel and tourism(e.g. crime, terrorism, health concerns, political considerations, etc.). The articles may be found in magazines, newspapers, journals or on the internet. You will be required to share a synopsis of the article with your classmates and with the instructor. Therefore, one copy of the synopsis will be posted as a discussion item and one copy will be submitted to the instructor via the dropbox. The synopsis should be approximately 100 words in length. Class members are also required to respond as a discussion thread to at least one other student's synopsis during the week the update is due.

i attached classmate's synopsis, write a respond for that too.

Malaysian monkeys, also known as pig-tailed macaques, have been eating a large amount of rats recently. Rats attribute to deforestation of palm trees, which is where palm oil comes from. Malaysia makes around 30% of the world's palm oil, a product used in ice cream, cookies, and various cleaning products. Wild rats can cause a 10% reduction in palm oil supply and rat poison to fend them off is not only unproductive, but also expensive. The funny part is, macaques also eat palm oil fruits, but their large consumption of rats still lowers palm tree deforestation roughly 7%. While this is sad news for rats, I find it great in terms of sustainability and the palm oil market. This defense against deforestation can help prevent our daily products, such as shampoo and pizza, from increasing in price. https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/22/asia/macaques-rats-palm-oil-scli-intl-scn/index.html
