Question one
Concrete
In early western history concrete was used to build structures such as the Pantheon,
Trojans column and marine structures like bridges, storm drains and aqueducts. The romans
mainly used pozzuolana which they got from volcanic sand. Romans also applied the use of
concrete in construction of other large structures like Roman Baths and Colosseum.
Concrete influenced early western history in various ways. In 476AD the knowledge for making
cement was lost until it was discovered in 1414. People were able to find some manuscripts
which described techniques for making pozzolan cement. This knowledge rekindled cement
construction.
Trojan column
This is a roman triumphal column, which signifies Roman emperor Trajan’s victories in
Desean wars. This structure which is designed with a spiral bas relief representing the wars
between the Romans and the desmans has inspired the designing of numerous victory columns in
western history.

Tiberius Sempron us Gracchus was a well-connected politician in Roman Empire in earl
y western history. He came up with reforms that could assist the small scale independent
farmers. Tiberius Gracchus was killed in a protest which was started his senatorial opponents.
