What is an Habeas corpus and how it can save ones jail term

A type of appeal that an individual can file in federal court to allege that your captivity violates federal law called as Habeas corpus. Whether you are a federal or state prisoner, a federal habeas appeal claims that your captivity is illegitimate because your trial, arrest, or sentence violated federal law. This would be correct if any feature of your trial, arrest or actual sentence violated a U.S. Constitution, treaty, or the federal statute.
