Evaluation essay of Joakim Noah: the Basketball Player
Joakim Noah is a star NBA player who started playing basketball at the age of 11. He
was born in New York where basketball was a religion. He continued to play basketball for
Florida Gators in college where he won back to back championships. He was drafted by NBA in
2007 as the 9th pick by the Chicago Bulls. This kick-started his career in NBA until 2016 when
he was drafted by the New York Nicks and in 2018 by the Memphis Grizzlies. Although he is
not a show of humility, integrity and outstanding personality, Joakim Noah had won an award
for the best defensive center of the year; he is an unselfish and outgoing player.
Although Joakim Noah is not a show of humility, integrity and outstanding personality as
a player, it is not particularly difficult to see why. He attended the University of Florida on a
sports scholarship where he went to play for the Florida Gators from 2004 to 2007. He and four
other freshmen were recruited by Coach Billy Donovan and would greatly impact the future of
the gators' basketball program for the next three years. Noah Joakim played only 9.4 minutes per
game in his freshman year averaging about 3.5 points per game and 2.5 rebounds. He was the
power forward but replaced his teammate Al Horford as the center in his sophomore year where
he led his team and ranked second after Al Horford in rebounds.

Noah Joakim’s draft position was increasingly improving with time and by the time the
NCAA Division came to an end, he had decided to contest for the NBA draft in 2006. On the 3rd
of April, 2006, Joakim Noah led his team to victory for the first basketball championship of the
University of Florida. The next year, 2007, Noah led the team to secure their second
championship with him playing defense as well an offense. He was drafted that year. He was
suspended for using performance-enhancing drugs commonly known as PEDs which is not a
good show of his personality and integrity and reputation. He eventually went to play for the
French national basketball team, something he had wanted to do for years.
