In this project you will be working on a personal fitness presentation. First, you will clear formatting from
unattractive text. You will then format text, change the layout of slides, and use the Find and Replace commands.
You will add a slide to the end of the presentation, add text to that slide, and format the text. Finally, you will
start the presentation in Slide Show view and then return to Normal view.

Understanding Views
1. Open the PP2016-SkillReview-1-2 presentation. The file will be renamed automatically to include your
name. Change the project file name if directed to do so by your instructor, and save it.
2. If the presentation opens in Protected View, click the Enable Editing button in the Message Bar at the
top of the presentation so you can modify it.
3. Clear the formatting from text.
a. On Slide 1, select the text My Fitness Plan.
b. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Clear All Formatting button.
4. Apply character effects to text.
a. On Slide 1, verify the text My Fitness Plan is still selected.
b. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Italic button.
5. Change the font size.
a. Verify the text My Fitness Plan is still selected.
b. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Font Size arrow and select 48.
6. Change the font color.
a. Verify the text My Fitness Plan is still selected.
b. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Font Color arrow and select Orange, Accent 3. It is
the seventh option in the first row under Theme Colors.

7. Navigate to a slide and change the slide layout.
a. Using the Slides tab, click Slide 3 to navigate to that slide.
b. On the Home tab, in the Slides group, click the Slide Layout button and select
Title and Content.
8. Change the font and change the size of text.
a. Click Slide 4.
b. Select the items in the bulleted list.
c. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Font arrow and select Century Gothic (Body).
d. In the Font group, click the Font Size arrow and select 28.
9. Use Format Painter to copy and paste formatting.
a. Click Slide 3.
b. Place the cursor in the slide title placeholder.
c. On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click the Format Painter button.
d. Navigate to Slide 4 and click and drag across the word Rest.
10. Add columns to placeholders.
a. Click Slide 5 and click in the bulleted list.
b. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the Add or Remove Columns button and select Two
Columns.
11. Use the Find command.
a. On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click the Find button.
b. Type: Regimen in the Find what box and click the Find Next button.
c. Close the Find dialog.
12. Use the Replace command.
a. On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click the Replace button.
b. The word Regimen should still be in the Find what box.
c. Type: Plan in the Replace with box.
d. Click the Replace All button.
e. A message box appears telling you two replacements have been made. Click OK in the message box.
f.
Close the Replace dialog.
13. Add slides to a presentation.
a. Using the Slides tab, click Slide 7 to navigate to that slide.
b. On the Home tab, in the Slides group, click the New Slide button arrow and select Title Only.
14. Add text to a placeholder.
a. Click in the title placeholder.
b. Type: I know I can do it!

15. Change the font size.
a. Select the text you just typed.
b. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Font Size arrow and select 66.
16. Change the font color.
a. Verify the text I know I can do it! is still selected.
b. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Font Color arrow and select Orange, Accent 3.
17. Switch to Slide Show view and then return back to Normal view.
a. Click Slide 1.
b. On the status bar, click the Slide Show button.
c. Press the Esc key on the keyboard to return to Normal view.
NOTE: When you are finished with this project, your presentation should contain 8 slides. If it does
not, your project will not grade properly and you may lose a significant number of points. Check your
work carefully.
18. Save and close the presentation.
