Role of the nurse in protecting patients’ health information
Patient health information is the demographic information, which includes diagnosis
information, name of the patient, social number, medical records, phone numbers, financial
information, facial photos, physical address, and so on. It is the information that is used to
identify a client or patient information. According to Masters (2018), the patients' health
information should remain confidential and is protected by the federal government. The nurses
are always obligated to maintain and confidentiality of the patients' health information unless
they are instructed by the law to do otherwise.
