Answer: The scientists are exploring the golden deserts in New Mexico Valley of Fire. There were
patches of black rock that are present in the sand which are fragments from the volcanic eruptions that
occurred 1,000 years back. The lava that slowed 40 miles long across the desert where the molten rock
cooled and darkened the place at putting animals at risk of danger.
2. What animal is used to illustrate the evolutionary process?
Answer: The pocket mouse was used to illustrate the evolutionary process. They perfectly camouflage
perfectly with the color of the sand that conceals them from the predators.
