Training Activities
From the beginning, the program is designed to help people gain knowledge in the
cultural competency issues in health care. The first activities that are involved in the course are
reading. One is required to read and understand information that is offered through the site for
them to get a clear understanding of what is expected of an individual at any one time. The
second activity includes researching information on various subtopics and understanding the
practices out in the open. Lastly, there are some tests that one needs to complete for them to
prove that they have successfully learned the information that is presented.
Source, Purpose and Time required
The source of my test is the website United for Sight, where they offer an outstanding
cultural competency online course. The site focuses on the best possible methods of helping
medical staff to be culturally competent to deal with people from various areas and to increase
the knowledge that medical staff has about other cultures. The goal of enlightening medical staff
on multiple items can help with better delivery of skills and even improved productivity across
various areas (Unite for Sight, 2015). With better knowledge, the medical staff will improve the
services that they offer and increase long-term productivity. It requires just over three hours to
complete.
The study is aimed at the nurses that practice medicine across different institutions.
Nurses are the most targeted because they often have the majority of contact with a patient when
they are receiving medical attention. The course would benefit them the most through increasing
the knowledge they have about other cultures and the do’s and don’t’s about the different
cultures. The understanding of these differences can help improve the customer services that

patients get when in hospitals, as well as the knowledge of issues that they get to face from time
to time (Repo, Vahlberg, Salminen, Papadopoulos & Leino-Kilpi, 2017).
Value of the training
This training is valuable because of the knowledge and the skills that are passed from the
professionals to the medical staff. It is vital to understand that there are training helps people to
understand the information that they need to know. They also help explain which some patients
may have different views depending on the place of origin as well as the development of
individual policies. The skills can help the members of staff to deal with people effectively and
also to increase the growth of activities that can help improve patient satisfaction. The skills are
also long-lasting, and so once they are taught, the people will remain with the know-how for the
