Fixing the Higher Education System
“The American higher education system is broken” is a common headline and statement made by
various stakeholders in the education sector. Critics of the current higher education system point
out numerous challenges including corruption, quality of education, cost of education, and
college student debt among others. Solutions to these problems can only be found through
administrative measures implemented from the Department of Education. Drastic changes in the
structure of college education and governance and financial management are required to
optimize the performance of colleges and other institutions of higher education in the country.
