Introduction
Ethics can be defined as the study of morality whereby morality is the standards that an
individual or group has about what's right and wrong. Ethics do direct how one or an organization
conducts itself. Ethics keeps on changing from place to place. In this situation, we will look at one
of the main ethical issues that face students in institutions of higher learning. Most students in these
institutions do not think that any ethics do apply to them hence most of them end up living an
immoral lifestyle that does not end even after leaving the institutions later. Hopefully, by building
up a clearer picture of the building blocks of people's beliefs, values and arguments, "we can be
more confident about our actual moral behavior in the real world
In this paper, we will look at the failure by students to respect teachers, staff and colleagues
of the learning institutions they are enrolled in. The teachers in these institutions abide by the codes
of professional practice since they are public service employees and they hold spots of trust from
the society as well. Though these principles are there they only apply to teachers or other staff at
these institutions hence the unruly behavior of not respecting teachers or other staff by the students.
The situation which is not respecting teachers and colleagues has a conflict whereby
students are expected to respect their teachers and colleagues. In most institutions, there are
guidelines and rules on how to conduct one. For colleagues who are disrespected most of them just
choose either to ignore or not take it personally by refusing to argue.
As time passes by students begin to disrupt other's peace of mind in classes and since
teachers have to intervene they end up using a tough disciplinary way, this method rarely works
since most of these students have developed these behaviors from home. Once the students have
been warned of their behaviors by the disciplinary board or if they were given psychological
guidance some do change but others still want to be the tough students in front of their peers in
class. One of the activities that help these students change is engaging in physical activities hence a
smooth learning environment.

Principles of Ethical Decision Making
Ethical Decision Making involves coming up with the right ideas to solve an ethical
problem that's challenging. There are four main principles or approaches when making an ethical
decision.
The first one is the utilitarian approach; it involves moral behaviors that produce the greatest
good without affecting those involved in a bad way. It's suitable for most individuals as it finds the
best ethical reach. In terms of students not respecting teachers and colleagues, it would be a good
approach as it will help a student find actions that will be of benefit of most benefit to the most
people rather than resulting to unruly and selfish ways among institutions
